YEARS HELD AT THIS POSITION
I enjoy underwater photography. I like to show non-divers what I see. I love the serenity and quietness of being underwater. I like interacting with marine life. And I really enjoy finding new species I have not seen before. My favourite marine are the velvetfish and sharks.
What drew you into the sport of Scuba Diving?
A friend asked me to get my dive licence to help collect for his saltwater fish tank.
What is your favourite dive site and why?
Yongala Wreck. Has an abundance of marine life. You never have enough air to stay as long as you want on the Yongala Wreck.
What is the most memorable dive you have done, and why?
Off Stradbroke Island, a juvenile female whale shark swam up to me. Was the first time in 30-40 years a whale shark had been sighted in the area. Happened to be in the right spot at the right time.
What do you love about being a Dive Instructor?
Seeing students faces when they experience the underwater world for the first time.
Where can you see the sport of Scuba Diving heading in the future?
More Rebreathers. More people understanding our oceans and wanting to protect our marine world.
