I learnt to dive on the 19th of August 1995, I became an instructor on 24 May 1998 and I have worked in the dive industry for most of that time. In February 2008 we founded Brisbane Dive Academy and have been here ever since.

I love my deep diving and also wrecks, the history, everything about them.

What drew you into the sport of Scuba Diving?

I had the choice in school of 3 unit maths, or marine studies, which more or less consisted of a PADI open Water Course. The choice was simple.

What is your favourite dive site and why?

The wreck of the Blackjack bomber in PNG. As you descend down the coral reef wall, you see this massive bomber materialise out of nowhere. Amazing.

What is the most memorable dive you have done, and why?

In 1998 I dived the SS Birchgrove Park II and I was so affected by narcosis that I was laying on the side of the ship laughing uncontrollably at the other divers who were descending after me.

What do you love about being a Dive Instructor?

I love being able to help people achieve their goals be it learning to dive or becoming and instructor.

Where can you see the sport of Scuba Diving heading in the future?

I think diving is evolving, this that are considered technical voodoo now will be main stream in a few years just like Nitrox was.
