YEARS HELD AT THIS POSITION
Despite being a senior executive of a water utility company, I find I devote my weekends to my passion for teaching diving, participating in diving activities, exploring the marine environment and researching the myriad of new discoveries I make each dive.
What drew you into the sport of Scuba Diving?
I was drawn in by an interest in underwater marine ecology and underwater archeological history.
What is your favourite dive site and why?
The Pinnacles off Phillip Island, Victoria is one of my favourite sites. I love the challenge of the depth and the variety of fish life and colours of the marine habitat.
What is the most memorable dive you have done, and why?
My most memorable dive was on the USS Aaron Ward in Iron Bottom Sounds Solomon Islands. Being one of the first divers in 2003 to see this newly discovered in tact US destroyer.
What do you love about being a Dive Instructor?
I love to see my students confidence grow in their own abilities to conduct their dive safely and from which they return with laughter.
Where can you see the sport of Scuba Diving heading in the future?
It is an important recreational and tourism industry that is under developed. Advances in SCUBA dive technologies will enable more people to enjoy the underwater world, in more places than what has traditionally been the case.
